Cornwall has been a popular holiday destination for well over a century, but in recent years it has become a victim of overtourism. Last summer, it was so deluged by visitors that roads were gridlocked and the tourist board stopped promoting its beaches. But despite all this, it has pockets that remain relatively quiet, with almost-deserted stretches of coastal path, uncrowded coves and peaceful pubs.
