Murray says he hopes to give something back by buying a hotel in his home town of Dunblane. Tell us what you do locally

Andy Murray has bought a hotel in his home town of Dunblane, which he hopes to turn into a successful enterprise. The tennis star said of the scheme:

"We will be able to attract new visitors to the area, create a number of new jobs and focus on supporting other local businesses … I'm pleased to be able to give something back to the community I grew up in."

How much do you invest in your neighbourhood? Do you buy food only from independent retailers? Do you volunteer at a local charity shop, or help out at a local school?

Do you think it's important to support your local area or do you think this is an insular point of view? Tell us how you give back to your home town.
